Active staff — employees currently enabled and eligible to be scheduled in any given week. This is the limit that determines your plan tier.

Registered staff — total employee accounts created in the system, including inactive or archived staff. Free plan allows up to 8 registered staff (5 active); Starter up to 20 registered (15 active); Growth up to 40 registered (30 active).

Common questions about how the plans work.

Is the Free plan really free forever?

Yes. The Free plan never expires. You can schedule up to 5 active staff with no credit card and no trial timer. Upgrade when your team grows.

What do I pay right now during beta?

Nothing. EasyRoster is in beta — all accounts are treated as Starter regardless of plan. We will announce when paid billing begins.

What changes when beta ends?

Free plan users stay on Free. Accounts that want Starter or Growth features will be prompted to subscribe. We give at least 7 days notice before any paid feature is gated.

Are there per-employee fees?

No. It is a flat monthly rate by team size. A 15-person team on Starter pays $19.99 — the same as a 3-person team. No surprises.

What is the difference between active and registered staff?

Active staff are employees enabled and eligible to be scheduled. Registered staff is the total number of employee accounts in the system, including inactive or archived staff. Your plan tier is determined by your active staff count. For example, on the Free plan you can create up to 8 employee accounts but only 5 can be active at once.

When will Xero export and AI Insights be available?

Both features are planned for after the beta period ends. Xero payroll export will be available on Starter and above. AI roster insights will be available on Growth and above. Neither is included during beta — all current accounts receive Starter features free regardless.

Can I switch plans anytime?

Yes. Upgrade or downgrade anytime from your plan page. Downgrades take effect at the end of your current billing period.
