Built for owner-operated teams that need the week to run cleanly
EasyRoster is not trying to be a giant workforce platform. It is built for NZ and AU small businesses that need a clear weekly roster, a real request workflow, and payroll review before mistakes become expensive.
What we are optimizing for
EasyRoster is built for small operators who need fast weekly operations, practical payroll checks, and permissions that stay understandable without growing into something that takes a dedicated HR team to run.
The product is deliberately shaped around a few connected screens instead of a wide enterprise surface. That keeps the operator in one workflow instead of spreading the work across spreadsheets, chat, payroll notes, and ad-hoc reminders.
What is live in beta right now
- Weekly roster builder with drag-and-drop, day/week/month views, and position-based shift colours
- Edit Week draft mode — drag, edit, delete shifts in a local draft, then Confirm & Save or Cancel to discard. Stats and shift cards update locally with an unsaved indicator until you commit
- Time clock — staff clock in/out, admin approves timesheets
- Leave management — annual and sick balances, leave type tracking, admin review
- Availability — Morning, Afternoon, or custom time-window preferences
- Swap requests and open shifts — staff self-claim, atomic manager approval
- Staged shift notifications — managers edit freely, send updates in one batch
- Shift accept and decline with optional reason and manager push notification
- Multi-company support — owners can run multiple businesses, staff can work for multiple employers
- Magic link sign-in — passwordless email login for staff
- Per-company timezone (NZ + AU regions, DST-aware) and per-day business hours
- Reports for overview, employee totals, and holiday review
- NZ & AU public holiday detection before payroll day
- Labour law compliance checks for NZ & AU rules
- Overtime & award pay multipliers (weekend, night, public holiday rates)
- Owner/admin/staff access with delegated admin controls
- Team announcements — admins post notices, staff see unread badge
Principles we are keeping fixed
Beta is not an excuse for random product direction. These are the constraints we are intentionally keeping because they make the product easier to run and easier to grow.
Keep the weekly roster above the fold and the admin path obvious.
Make leave, swaps, and payroll review part of the same operating workflow.
Stay small-team first instead of copying enterprise workforce software.
Security, access, and regional trust signals
EasyRoster is built for small teams, but the trust bar is still real. These are the specific controls and regional facts we can stand behind today.
Regional hosting
Customer data is stored in Sydney so NZ and AU operators are not shipping core product data to the other side of the world by default.
Controlled access
Owner, admin, delegated admin, and staff access are separated so a growing team does not require shared logins or vague responsibility boundaries.
Clear product limits
Holiday pay guidance and labour reports are visible inside the workflow, but final payroll responsibility still stays with the business.
Regional facts we can actually verify
- Built and operated by Innoweb Limited, a New Zealand registered company
- Primary database hosted in Sydney, Australia (AWS ap-southeast-2)
- Built for New Zealand and Australian businesses
- Privacy documentation aligned to NZ Privacy Act 2020 and AU Privacy Act 1988
If you need the full legal detail, the public policy pages remain the source of record: Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
How access is kept scoped
- Email verification before account use is fully enabled
- Role-based access for owner, admin, and staff workflows
- Time-bound admin delegation with revocation support
- Protected routes fail closed when account state cannot be confirmed
The practical goal is simple: if someone can approve requests, publish rosters, or change company settings, that access should be visible, intentional, and removable.
Operational trust signals
This is not a generic "enterprise security" page. It is the practical layer that matters for owner-operators managing shifts, leave, invites, and payroll review.
Holiday review is visible before payroll, not after the fact
Requests, roster updates, and invites use transactional email flows
Password reset and invite flows use expiring tokens
Suspended workspaces are blocked from operational write actions until billing is resolved
Public pages clearly separate legal terms, privacy, pricing, and product claims
Public roadmap for the v1.00 beta period
This roadmap is intentionally simple. It shows what is already usable now, what we expect to improve next, and what is deliberately later so beta users know where the product is actually heading.
