How it works

Draft → Adjust → Confirm → Send

The same flow inside the app. No wizard, no training — it works how a roster should.

1

Start from last week

Open the roster page and copy last week, or build fresh. Your team and their availability are already there.

2

Drag staff onto days

Calendar with time down the side, business hours shaded. Drag a name onto a day — done. Holiday rates apply automatically.

3

Confirm & lock

Overview cards show hours, shifts and labour cost. One click locks the week and turns it into a timesheet.

4

Send the roster

Send to all staff at once — each sees only their shifts, via push or email. Manager edits later send as a single batch.

Before you compare

Most rostering tools don't have a free plan. The ones that do won't let you roster.

Worth knowing before you start a trial somewhere and hit a wall on day 15.

A free plan that actually rosters

Some tools advertise a free tier, then leave scheduling out of it — you get a time clock and timesheets, and rostering starts at the paid plan. Ours is capped on team size, not on features. Build, confirm and send real rosters on the free plan.

No per-head billing surprises

Hospitality turns over staff fast. Most tools charge per employee, so every hire and leaver moves your bill, and a casual you forgot to archive keeps costing you. We do not price per head.

NZ and AU holiday rules, not an afterthought

Mondayisation, ANZAC Day, regional anniversaries and time-and-a-half are built in rather than bolted on. Leave figures are shown as estimates — we tell you to check payroll before you pay out, because that is the honest answer.

Competitor details from their own pricing pages, August 2026. We keep this honest — if something here goes out of date, tell us and we'll fix it.

Built in public · Public beta open

Real owners, real feedback — quotes coming once beta closes.

We're a small NZ team shipping EasyRoster in beta. New features land most weeks. We don't publish customer quotes without consent — once beta closes we'll surface real names with permission. Until then, what's shipping is on the public roadmap.

Built for Aotearoa & Australia

Mondayisation, ANZAC Day, regional anniversaries — handled.

No overseas tool knows what to do with Wellington Anniversary Day or when Christmas lands on a Sunday. Every NZ + AU public holiday is pre-loaded with the right multiplier and observance rules.
